Jungle City - Acuna/Hoff/Mathisen
Title: Jungle City - Acuna/Hoff/Mathisen
Artist: Alex Acuna, Jan Gunnar Hoff, Per Mathisen

Music Media: CD
Composer: Alex Acuna, Jan Gunnar Hoff, Per Mathisen
Artist Country: Peru, Norway
Label (Catalogue No.): Alessa Records ALR 1014
Recorded: 2008
Genre: Jazz
Brief description: This trio that you are about to listen to came to life at a Latin music festival in Tromso, Northern Norway, March 2007. Legendary drummer and percussion player Alex Acuna was the special guest of honor with a norwegian ensemble. After playing only a few bars together as a trio on the first rehearsal, Alex was jumping off his drum stool screaming out: "Wow guys, fantastic, we have to play much more together". What we experienced right there is every musicians dream, to meet somebody who fully share the same approach and love for playing music, and you feel that this person has always been your friend.
The music on this recording stretches from soft acoustic tunes to electric high voltage energy, rockin´jazz.

Miniaturvertrauen - Musik für Klavier solo von Jean Sibelius
Title: MiniatURvertrauen - Solo piano music of Jean Sibelius
Artist: Rudi Spring

Music Media: CD
Composer: Jean Sibelius
Artist Country: Germany
Label (Catalogue No.): Alessa Records ALC 2001
Recorded: 2009
Genre: Classical
Brief description: Miniaturvertrauen - Mini-assurance, traversing a back path through the work of the great Symphonist, Jean Sibelius.
The enclosed CD contains eight of Sibelius´miniatures from the years 1914-1918. Rudi Spring, the painist on that recording, feels that Sibelius created something unique in these pieces. Their roots, stemming from 19th century character pieces, are clear, distinct, independent of style and timeless. Sibelius revived this genre and filled it with his creative spirit. In his more less trivial, though entertaining, miniature series there is, indeed, a scattering of true true pearls. Included in these works are moments of enlightened poetry and fabrication, invention and discovery, creation and re-creation.
