Brief description: Piano duo formed on September 3, 2002 by intergrating the two different playing styles of the two brothers, Moriya and Keito Saito. They have benn successful in overturning the stereotypical image of conventional piano playing style by combining Moriya`s beautiful ballad melody and Keito´s dynamic boogie rhythm. With a touch of the original Les Frères taste, they have become a unique duo incomparableto any other groups. The brothers emphasize "harmony" when composing and playing their music.

Brief description: Werner Hink, violin – The concert master of the Vianna Philharmonic Orchestra. The leader of the Vianna String Quartet and the New Vienna Octet. He was born in Vienna in 1943 and studied the Violin at eht Municipal Conservatory of Vienna, then an the Vienna Academy of Music unter Prof. Franz Samohyl where he graduated from at first on the list in 1962. He started hes solo activities at the age of 15, and has played concertos by Mozart or Bach, “The Four Seasons” by Vivaldi, and others at the subscription concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Keiko Toyama was born in Tokyo and studied her piano lessons with Prof. S. Inoue in her infancy. When Alfred Cortot visited Japan she hat a fortunate encounter with the Maestro. She enjoyed a high reputation in her country for her Debussy and Mozart chamber music series. She has distinction of being one of the few personal disciples of Alfred Cortot who regardes her as a “prix-fruit” among his coterie of artists. She made may recordings for Camerata. She has been on the faculty of the Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy & Festival since its start, and devoted her enthusiasm especially to chamber music.

Brief description: Paul Badura-Skoda is one of the greatest pianists of our time, a legendary artist heard in concert halls oll over the world. His musical personality is a rare combination of total devotion to music, a passionate quest for authenticity, and a great feeling of responsibility towards the composers. Paul Badura-Skoda is Viennese and world-famed for his affinities with Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert, but his very extensive repertoire ranges from Bach to Frank Martin and Gottfried von Einem, and includes works by Schumann, Brahms, Debussy and Ravel. But he always returns to Mozart, whose language, a pure expression of love, has become an essential part of his own language, as my be seen from his cadenzas and his reconstructions of incomplete works.

Brief description: The two most extensive works on this CD show off the growing importance of the "younger" genres. The Fantasieen op. 116 by Johannes Brahms, consisting of the three Capriccios and four Intermezzi, display an overall coherence, regarding tonality and the way motifs are used, and a tight structure that would only have been expected in sonatas.
In contrast, Schubert´s Sonata in A minor D784, while classic in concept and adhering to the traditional forms, oozes so much typical Schubertian lyricism in the first movement.
Both Scriabin and Debussy found the etude a useful vehicle to display their harmonic innovation.
